Log Message:	This change has been rolled back. It caused no end of problems for us because our home directories are NFS mounted - so the PID file was the same on a whole block of our hosts... which meant the PID checking really didn't want to work :) Not to mention the problems introduced with the NFS going funny at times ;) <sigh>
